For the Health of it prompt – January 2021

It’s already 4th January so I am late with the prompt once again. But given that many people don’t stick to resolutions much past this day, maybe that isn’t a bad thing. Motivation for us all has taken a real bashing this past 10 months or more. So improving health and fitness is going to take a lot of effort. But I am committed to improving my own health and fitness this year and to losing weight. I am also keen to continue this blog and to continue and improve this meme. So here goes.

What single (or multiple) thing(s) do you plan to do differently this year to improve your physical or emotional health?

My plans include a number of initiatives – losing weight, exercising more, taking more time away from social media and reading some great books. But in truth the one thing I need to do is to actually do what I say I will do. I’m a great starter but not a very good finisher. Planning and setting goals is my thing. But actually getting the outcomes, well that’s harder.

Some initial thoughts and ideas include:

  • Finding new healthy recipes and cooking them
  • Exercising indoors or outdoors by finding a new app, programme of videos etc.
  • Learning new ways to relax that don’t involve food or alcohol
  • Forming or joining an online support group, book club, debating society etc.
  • Growing vegetables
  • Taking photos of every day life

The list is endless. Please share your ideas here. The link up opens this afternoon (4th Jan and closes at midday GMT on 31st). Rules can be found here. Happy sharing!
